Praised by Opera News as “magnificent” and having “…a lovely bright sound and enviable flexibility with coloratura that flows like glistening water,” rising soprano Hanna Brammer is making a splash on the operatic scene.
Most recently, Hanna made her West Coast debut with Pacific Symphony in their semi-staged production of Das Rheingold as Woglinde, which was produced in collaboration with Atlanta Opera. She also recently performed with The Florida Orchestra as the soprano soloist in Samuel Barber’s Knoxville Summer of 1915.
Brammer has interpreted many of opera’s most beloved soprano roles to great acclaim, including Violetta (La Traviata) for Opera Tampa, Gilda (Rigoletto), Juliette (Roméo et Juliette), Michaëla (Carmen), and Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) for Sarasota Opera, Nedda (I Pagliacci) and Marzelline (Fidelio) for St. PeteOpera, Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) and Musetta (La Bohème) for Salt Marsh Opera, and Mabel (The Pirates of Penzance) for Knoxville Opera and Nashville Opera.
Equally at home interpreting the classics as she is performing lesser-known works, Brammer’s other performance credits include Vespina (L’Infedeltà Delusa), Leïla (The Pearl Fishers), Nuri (Tiefland), Sofia (Il Signor Bruschino), Carolina (Il Matrimonio Segreto), and Giulia (La scala di seta) with Sarasota Opera. She originated the role of Penelope in the world premiere of Richard Auldon Clark’s (Happy Birthday Wanda June) with Indianapolis Opera, and she sang Soprano I in Nashville Opera’s production of Philip Glass’s rarely performed opera (Hydrogen Jukebox).

Brammer has performed with major symphonies and orchestras around the United States. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in 2024 with Mid-America Productions, singing the soprano soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass, K.317. Other performances include appearances with Ensemble SRQ, The Sarasota Chamber Orchestra, Jacksonville Symphony, and multiple appearances with The Glacier Symphony and The Florida Orchestra.
She made her professional debut as Rose Maurrant in Opera North’s 2014 production of Street Scene. Since then, she has performed concerts and leading roles with Opera Tampa, Knoxville Opera, Opera Columbus, Sarasota Opera, Nashville Opera, Opera Southwest, Mississippi Opera, St. Pete Opera, Opera Memphis, Festival Amadeus, Indianapolis Opera, Opera North, Opera Project Columbus, Painted Sky Opera, and Wichita Grand Opera.
Originally from Traverse City, Michigan, Brammer holds a Bachelor’s Degree in vocal performance from Manhattan School of Music and a Master’s Degree from Indiana University.
